Lever combines applicant tracking with candidate relationship management. In 2025 it introduced an AI matching engine.

What Lever Says About Screening

Lever describes the feature this way: "Lever's new AI-powered matching engine instantly ranks candidates against your job requirements, giving you a shortlist of top matches, complete with transparent scoring and explanations." Its AI features page says the product keeps "people at the center of every hiring decision" and that "Lever's explainable AI gives teams clear visibility into how decisions are made." In February 2026 Lever wrote: "AI surfaces patterns and highlights signals; you decide what matters."

Bias Testing and Records

Lever says its AI governance runs on IBM's watsonx platform, "helping ensure privacy, bias monitoring." We did not find a published independent bias audit or audit-log documentation on Lever's public pages as of October 19, 2026. That does not mean none exists; ask Lever directly.
